What the app stores

Home Schoolhouse keeps the information you enter — student names, grade levels and photos, scores and score photos, reading lists, PE and music practice, reward trees, to-dos, calendar events, shopping lists, files, memories (photos and videos) and school settings — on your device. If iCloud is on, Apple syncs this data between devices signed in to your Apple ID using iCloud (CloudKit). Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy; we can't see your iCloud data.

Live family sharing (optional)

If you link with another parent using a family code, the family's school records (including student photos, but not your memories, files or score photos) are sent to our server so both parents' devices can stay in sync, along with the parent display name you choose and a random ID for your device. This data is stored under your private family code, is used only to sync your family's devices, and is never sold, shared or used for advertising. Either parent can remove and block the other parent's phone or report a problem from the family sharing screen. You can stop sharing anytime in Settings → Family & iCloud; email us to have your family's server copy deleted.

Camera, microphone and photos

The app asks for camera, microphone and photo library access only so you can add student photos, score photos and memories, and save memories to your Photos. Nothing is uploaded unless you use live family sharing as described above.

Dictionary

When you look up a word on the Today screen, the word you typed is sent to the free Datamuse API (api.datamuse.com) to fetch definitions, synonyms and rhymes. No personal information is sent with it.

Subscriptions

Purchases are handled by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription or free trial is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and your App Store purchase receipts — never your name, email or payment details. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings.

What we don't do

• No account or sign-up, and we never collect your email or location. Names are only sent to our server if you turn on live family sharing.
• No advertising, analytics SDKs or cross-app tracking.
• We never sell or rent your data.

Children

Home Schoolhouse is designed for parents to use on behalf of their children. Children's information is entered by a parent, stays under the parent's control, and is not used for any purpose other than running the app's features.

Deleting your data

Delete any record in the app, or delete the app to remove its data from your device. To remove iCloud data, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage on your iPhone. For family sharing data on our server, email us with your request.

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and the policy on this page.
